Yesterday, two friends and I went on a bike ride out to Windsor. A cycleway from Parramatta out to Windsor was finished a couple of years ago, and it’s a very lovely ride. It was a 54.6km round trip from my house, and we pass new suburbs (thanks, Sydney sprawl), semi-rural properties, a few fast food restaurants, the new and shiny Rouse Hill Town Centre, and we end up in Windsor, a suburb in western Sydney that has yet to lose its small village, old town charm. Windsor Seafood on the main street is known as the place with awesome fish and chips, and we bought lunch there and ate it at the park opposite. (If my trainer is reading this, my lunch that day was grilled fish and two pieces of grilled octopus – nothing deep fried at all
). It was a lovely spring day, with endless blue skies and a delightful 21 degrees.
This week, I’ll be going to the gym five days of the week, but no bike riding this weekend. I’m thinking of trying the M7 next weekend, which is an 80km round trip. We’ll see how much fitter I get in the next two weeks…
