Last Sunday, I forgot to take my lunchtime dose of hydrocortisone (I was on 4mg in the morning and 2mg at lunch). I didn’t realise until about 6pm, and was feeling completely fine without it. I don’t know if this is the usual symptom, but when I don’t have enough cortisol, I feel weak and like I’m going to faint. It’s not so much a feeling of tiredness, more a feeling of, “I don’t think I can stay upright for much longer”.
So I got to Sunday evening without the lunchtime dose feeling perfectly fine, and wondered if I could speed up the weaning schedule my endo set me. I sent him an email to ask, and he replied and said it was fine to speed up the process. As soon as he sent me that, I started taking 2mg in the morning and 2mg at lunch. I did that for, uh, four days.
Yesterday, I just took the morning 2mg and was fine without the next 2mg. I had the extra 2mg with me all day just in case, though. Today, I’m going to try not taking it at all (will have it on me just in case). I think it will be fine, because about a month ago where I left my drugs at home and didn’t take them at all, and was fine all day. Adrenals and pituitary are talking to each properly now, I think. Good job, guys!
