Some vital statistics

I was going through some old documents the other night, and I found a letter. This letter was written from my endocrinologist to the dermatologist after the first time I saw him, and it was to update the dermatologist on what he saw and what he thought of my symptoms.

The most interesting part of that letter was this:

Features on Examination: On examination she has moon facies with some facial acne. She has a slight buffalo hump. She has upper and lower limb proximal muscle loss and mild weakness. She has a petechial rash on the arms, legs and face, and has florid purple striae on the flanks, axilla, and breast flexures, as well as the inner thighs. She has marked bruising around both breasts and has had subjective changes in the skin, as well as a possible increase in breast size and abdominal girth. Blood pressure is 140/70, pulse 76, BMI 21.7 for a height of 165 cm and weight 59 kg. Waist circumference is 88 cm

The numbers have changed a lot now. I don’t know what my blood pressure numbers are, but when I went to my GP about two months ago, she said it was healthy. My resting pulse is now 70, BMI is 20.2, weight 55kg and waist circumference 77cm.

Ha. Suck on that, Cushing’s!
