With thanks

Because there was absolutely no way I could have done this alone. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to everyone who shared this adventure with me:

The nurses and doctors in E3C and D5C at Westmead Public Hospital, for answering my questions, laughing and joking with me, and looking after me.

My endocrinologist, Dr Champion, for the original diagnosis, his ongoing support and humour, and for being the most awesome endo in the world.

My neurosurgeon, Dr Dandie, for removing my tumour, putting in the lumbar drain, and being so wonderful.

My anaesthetist, Dr Minto, for making sure I wasn’t awake when the tumour was removed, and for visiting me after when he didn’t have to.

The physio team at Westmead – Col, Adrian, and especially Ed, for getting me back on my feet.

The OT team at Westmead – Matt and Rebecca, for getting above the waist working as well as below the waist.

My parents, for food and visiting every day.

Sam’s parents, especially his mum, for garden fresh strawberries and cherry tomatoes, Oompa Loompas, and visiting every day.

Sam. The biggest thanks are to Sam, for everything. For love, support, and an unwavering belief that I could do this. Thank you for being there when I needed you the most.
